Sorry to hear of your loss, I know how frustrating it can be to lose video gear during a trip (I blew out the charger on the 1st day of a 7 day liveaboard).

I obtained a valuable piece of advice while on the Nai'a in Fiji (great boat by the way). Never leave your camera in a dunk tank. Stuart Gau has seen significantly more camera losses in dunk tanks than anywhere else. He said it had to do with the bouncing around and shallow water causes problems with the o-ring seal. You also see a lot of cameras bang together in a dunk tank. I only use the dunk tank to rinse or check for leaks. So far I have close to 300 dives on my housing without a problem (flooded my first cheap camera on the 15th dive). Your video looked great considering you only had a little raw footage.

Dave
