I'm not sure if I've ever had BSB but I have eaten Chilliean Sea Bass and it was excellent. ;-)
Joking aside, I've tried researching to get an estimated amount of total bycatch waste that's throw back and I haven't had much luck finding any numbers. From what I've gathered so far the commercial guys are penalized, if they retain certain species, on their total take so the system does seem to promote wasteful practices and not utilizing the bycatch. Shrimp trawling probably results in the highest amount of bycatch to target species. CAN be as high as 15 to 1. That is one pound of shrimp to 15 pounds of bycatch.
