The smaller gas suppliers are (in my experience) harder to deal with. I have an account at Airgas, and they are very easy to deal with. Again, I wouldn't bring up the "tech diver" angle, at least until you are an established customer. The advice in the 02 hackers handbook regarding a company letterhead, etc is really good.
