I'd forgotten this was a second offense. In that case, perhaps 6 months would have been more appropriate.
However, I also concur with Chuck's comment down below about the cover-up. Violating the standards is one thing. Lying about it after you're caught is a seperate offense/problem and certainly as serious, if not more so, as the first.
And, as a store owner, if I'm aware of these circumstances, there's no way someone like that is going to get hired, assuming I'm running a reputable outfit.
