Wear a dive parka and cover your head with a beannie or any hat that covers your head, neck & ears. A fatty, calorie burner snak like BPJ or snickers or trail mix (with the carob and chocolate raisins) makes a big difference. Also, empty your booties after your suit water settles into them, then put them back on or put on ugg boots. The cold water settling in your booties gets cold quick. Get out of the wind. I would put hot liquids like hot cider or just plain hot water (no caffeine!) into your body but not into your wet suit. Putting hot water in your suit feels good at the time but in the long run subdues your own internal heating. Save the hot water in your suit for after all the diving is done, right before you change back into your clothes.
