Just got back from Fiji in Dec-Jan.

Weather was warm & humid day and night, so make sure your resort has A/C in each of the bedrooms.

Food was mostly continental with some native fish entres.

Diving was current diving, where the boats tie up to the reefs, so you have to fight the current on the way down and also on the way back up. Hug the reef and the bottom where the current is not as strong. The boats dont drift dive with you, like in Mexico. The reefs in Fiji are too small to drift dive like in Mexico.

If you are good at this kind of diving, you will enjoy the scenery of soft corals, hard corals, multicolored fish, sea snakes, eels etc.

If you are not familiar with this kind of diving, you wont find it relaxing and dreamy. In that case you are probably better off visiting Hawaii or Mexico.

The flight to Hawaii or Mexico is half as long as the 12 hour going & 11 hour returning flight to Fiji. 12 hours is a long time to spend cramped on an aircraft.

I dont plan to go back to Fiji anytime soon. Been there done that. Some people however go back year after year.
