I had the "dive of my life" with Dan Grenier of Crystal Divers in Fiji a few years ago (this was off the northeast side of the big island, Viti Levu, several miles out). It would be an understatement to say that Dan was experienced, because he has literally charted out his own "private" manta ray cleaning stations and can routinely find schools of reef sharks (if that is of interest to his clients). The diving was spectacular, though the "honeymoon" accomodations (that's why I was there) on Viti Levu left something to be desired. There are several smaller islands (probably several hundred) that offer much nicer (though at much higher cost) facilities. All in all a great place to dive. Check out Crystal Divers website, they were first rate! Cheers.
