It was my ancient BCD (a Scubapro Double Black) that had the CO-2 inflator and the grommet that rotted through. It was a very "old" BCD, but was well-made and functioned well until then.
The brand new Classic is the one I'm having the troubles with. It is the current model but isn't of the same quality of manufacture based on my experience.
Although I've been diving since 1961, I didn't start using a BCD until 1989. At that time I hated them, now I couldn't work (videotape) without a good one.
