Chamber Day is up and running and looking for . . . you!!!
As you hopefully know, Chamber Day/Eve is not only the lagrest single-day scuba chairty event in the US, but also a major source of funding for our local Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber. Last year, we managed to raise $72,000 and this year . . . ???
Cost for the daytime event is $75. Cost for the evening event is also $75. Full details can be found at "wwww.chamberday.org" or simply by clicking the link at the bottom of this message.
Spots have started filling our some of the 15 local boats participating (the Encore and Great Escape - both booked as "open" boats - are usually the first two to go so if you want to be on one of those, call early), we've started getting donations to the Chmaber Challenge (we'll start posting updates next week), and people are reserving table seats for Chamber Evening at the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
This event works because ALL the local boats, ALL the local dive shops, ALL the local clubs, and ALL the manufacturers band together for this one day for the greater good of our Chamber and the diving community. A hyperbaric chamber is the ONLY way to treat decompression sickness & embolisms and without our local Catalina Chamber, a valuable saftey net for divers would be lost. Your contributions and participation in Chamber Day ensure that our Chamber stays financially healthy.
To get involved, either go to the website or call (310)652-4990 (that's the number for Reef Seekers Dive Co., the co-ordinating store) and get involved.
