How do you measure a porthole?

Hey Board...

I just got my first Porthole!!!

But before any congratulations, I got it at a Yardsale.
Now people are asking questions like "what size is it?"
But I don't know what to measure. The glass, the opening, or from screwhole to screwhole?

So that makes it from 8 to 10 inches....
Remindes me of an old Limmerik.
