This will be the first of the regular updates, probably coming out once or twice a week. The most important thing to remember is that Chmaber Day and Chamber Evening will both take place on Wednesday, May 7. If you need more detailed information, please call 310/652-4990 or visit our website "www.chamberday.org" (direct link below).

CHAMBER DAY ($75) - Things are starting to cook. The Encore is already close to full and the Great Escape is right behind it. The Sea Bass is also filling. And we're getting sign-ups for the Flying Dutchman, our mythical boat which is perfect for those of you who can't actually take the day off. BUT . . . we've got a long way to go. This year, not counting the Dutchman, we've got roughly 375 diver spots to fill and we can't do it without YOU. So whether you can actually take the day off or just want to pretend you're taking the day off and dive the Dutchman, please give us a call &/or check with your local shop to see if they're sponsoring a particular boat. (Note that most of the boats are doing a food-and-air included day, $20, which will also be collected when you make your reservation. Also note that boat sign-ups, except for the Dutchman, can NOT be done via the website.)

CHAMBER EVENING ($75) - People have already started signing up for this fabulous event, to be held at the magnificent Aquarium of the Pacific. It's a catered, sit-down dinner and a fun time is had by all. Right now, we're planning/hoping on 300 people but we can increase that to 400. (Remmeber, too , this is a great event for a non-diver.) We've had a number of groups (Rainbow Divers, LABUE, Laguna Sea Sports, SSA, Scubadivernet.com, Reef Seekers, Tom Wetzel, and others) commit to sponsoring a table. (If you're with a group that would like to sponsor a table, there's no financial commitment and you get listed in the program. Talk to Bill Wright at Reef Seekers at 310/652-4990.) But the bottom line is that this is a really fun and even (dare we say???) CLASSY evening that you'll be proud to be part of.

CHAMBER CHALLENGE - Detailed in a seperate post.

DAYTIME & EVENING RAFFLES - We've gotten over $25,000 in prizes donated so far and that total will probably go a higher. If you'll be on a boat, you can purchase raffle tickets on board or ahead of time. if you're not on a boat you can still purchase tickets (since you don't have to be present to win for the daytime raffle). For the evening raffle, you must be present to win and you can buy extra raffle tickets when you register for Chamber Evening or at the event itself. You can check out all the prizes (note the changing images at the top of the page) on the raffle page on the website.

That's it for now. If you have any suggestions, questions, etc., please feel free to send them to us via e-mail. This event works when we ALL pitch in together and we sincerely appreciate whatever amount of support you can give us. Remember the date - May 7!!! Thanks.
