I've heard that there is some diving in the Cocoa Beach area, but it is often limited due to activities at Cape Canaveral. I would assume that like San Clemente, it will be closed for security reasons for a while.
I suggest that if you can, drive down to the West Palm Beach/Ft. Lauderdale area (really good to do if you have a weekend off). There are lots of boats there and the drift diving is great. Haven't been there for several years but I had good diving with a boat called "Diving Solutions" out of Boynton Beach.
