You've probably made your reservations already but my wife and I just got back from Belize. We stayed at the Mayan Princess on Ambergris Caye. The best dive shop on the island is just 30 yards down the beach (Amigos Del Mar) and town in just outside the front door- restaurants, bars, ice cream, internet cafe, etc. The prices were reasonable and the room had a kitchen with refrig. for cold water/drinks and a balcony for the cooler ocean breezes to come in.
