There is Wet Pleasure in SJ. Commercial, but the convenience of big.
If you pay attention in class and then work to learn and revue the lecture stuff outside of class, you will be a long ways towards making it a good class.
Even Sport Chalet can have good instructors, but no matter who the instructor is, it will be up to you to continue to dive and become good at it. ... So unless you can get an instructor recommended, just go for it and most likely you will get an instructor that is good enough to teach you diving if you work for it.
