Diving BC is fabulous! Joe & I have dove with several of the live-aboard boats up there. From Barkley Sound on the West Coast of Vancouver Island up to Pt Hardy (my favorite). The live aboard I would recommend would be on the MV Sea Venturer. Their webpage is www.seaveenturer.com
If you are limited on time there is good shop out of Nanaimo called Ocean Explorers Diving. Their number is 800-233-4145. We dove several days with them one year and we dove the newer wreck that had been sunk. Next to this island is a wall that goes down forever and at about 130 and deeper are these neat yellow spongs. Anyway, in August expect a plankton bloom so vis may not be good till you get deeper. Water temp is usually low 50's at depth. 47 real deep!
