Greetings all,

12 days to go and counting (May 7, in case you forgot) . . .

Here's we we are in general terms for all the events. Based on these numbers, I'm hoping for a 5% increase over last year. But once again . . . we can't do it without YOU!!!!!

CHAMBER DAY - Doing pretty good right now. We've sold 306 spots and have 60 spots left. Available boats right now are Aquatica (25 spots - out of Wilmington), Bottom Scratcher (10 - Long Beach), Cee Ray (5 - San Pedro), Horizon (4 - San Diego), Island Time (3 - Los Alamitos), Mr. C (7 - San Pedro), and Second Stage (6 - Avalon). The Encore, Great Escape, Magician, Pacific Star, Psalty V, Sea Bass, Sundiver, and Westerly are all sold out. (Note you can't sign up for boats via the web. Call us at 310/652-4990.)

FLYING DUTCHMAN - Putting people on this boat can really make a big difference in our bottom line. Right now, we've only got 22 (we did 75 last year) so if you can't get away for the day but still would like to "do" the event, this is a great option. You'll get a special t-shirt, raffle tickets, and know you've made a difference.

CHAMBER EVENING - We've sold 205 seats so far and we have unconfirmed sales (i.e. we don't have the money) for 45 others. We can go up to 350 seats sold and that number might be doable this year. Chamber Evening is a fabulous night at the magnificent Aquarium of the Pacific, a great reason to do a "dress up" night (see divers in something OTHER than wet hair or a wetsuit), and . . . you'll be helping our Chamber.

CHAMBER CHALLENGE - We're running a bit behind the same time last year but hopefully can catch up. A couple of the bigger donors from last year said they simply couldn't afford it this year, and others have given a smaller amount than last year. We know it's a tough economy but we hope you'll look inside your heart, understand how important the Chamber can be to you or your friends, and give whatever you can afford.

Chamber Day and Chamber Evening are collaborative efforts of the entire diving community. Without all the boats, stores, clubs, and individual divers coming toghether, this would fall flat on it's face. United, we CAN make a difference. As always, thanks for your support.
