First support you local shop. They need you in order to stay in business. Hopefully, they will have someone there who is knowledgable and experienced who will explain and demonstrate to you what makes a good regulator "good". If they can not do this, or you do not trust them, then find someone else. In my 30-plus years as an industry pro, I trust "Atomic" regulators. They cost more but my life, and diving enjoyment is worth it.
