The only effective thing you can do is to not eat there again. If you notice shark fin soup at another restaurant, be sure to let the owner or manager know why you're leaving before you do. If enough people do that, maybe the restaurant will make the connection and stop selling shark fin soup.
Unfortunately, there's enough demand for shark fin soup at places that have a primarily Chinese clientele that your efforts might not make much difference, but if this is your local Chinese joint, it might just work. Good luck!
