I didn't dive today myself, but the following report was posted about La Jolla Shores in San Diego:
"Conditions: moderate surf conditions (1-2 foot....maximum), light surge, 10-15 feet of vis at a depth of 25-30 feet. Looks like the vis was opening up a bit if we were to head for the canyon's edge."
There have been a lot of recent sightings of fried egg jellyfish and lion nudibranchs (Melibe leonina) at LJS. You might take a look at www.divebums.com for more info.
