On Memorial Day I was in the water checking the
props and shafts per the Captain's request. At
that time, I made a deliberate point of checking
the props for burn since I put new zincs on late
last April.

During that check I did not see any letters
carved into the props. The following week, Chris
noticed the letters etched into the algae on one
of the starboard prop blades. This past weekend,
I saw the letters myself. They were marked on the
prop by what appears to have been a knife blade,
scallop or ab bar. Since there was only one dive
day between when I inspected the props and when
Chris noticed and took their picture, I am sure
the etching was done on dive 1 or two of last Saturday, a trip to SBI.

It is of no real consequence though. In the past
PADI and TDI scratched on the stern face of the
GE more than once. I even have seen SSA scratched
into the algae on port stern hull.

New growth covers up all such 'taggings' in a few
weeks anyway. Anyone remember the Yukon during
it's first few months as an artificial reef? I
saw online names all over the place during that
time, especially one name of a former frequenter
of this BBS who's name started with K and ended
with D. That name was everywhere on the outside.
Good thing he/she wasn't going inside else I am sure he/she would have 'tagged' in there too.
