The driving force behind the fish decline is commercial fishing. Thus the most environmentally harmful thing an individual can do is to eat commercially caught seafood. If there were no market, there would be no commercial fishing.
The article states; “We, the consumers, have done this because we have a taste for fish and 'delicacies' such as shark-fin soup. Our demand for seafood appears to be insatiable."
It has always been my contention the most harmful thing you can do to are marine stocks is order a seafood dinner.
