I think Kevlar is the best bet all around. Reason being, it has a lot of dexterity (for the 3MM at least) and you can feel the bug, but not the spines. Sea urchins can easily shred right through, but honestly, I get enough of those on my legs, knees, shoulders that a few more on my hands wont bother me.... especially if I have a big bug.
Just my opinion on the matter.....
