I've occasionally heard that beach diving around high tide is optimal as the visibility is better. This seems intuitive (high tide pushes silt to shore instead of offshore) but I've never actually tested it myself. Been socal beach diving about 3 years and visibility seems more tied to wave conditions than tides.

Can some folks out there opine on whether or not their experience agrees with this "high tide" hypothesis?

Thanks.

Andy
