I mostly dive south of the Ventura area. There are excellent reefs all along from as far down as Malibu, to as close as Deer Creek. Try Leo Carillo.
THe West facing beaches in Ventura usually have poor visibility and there is not much in the way of structure until you get to Carpinteria.
