I have had similar problems with masks. The press against my face and simple equalization does not help. This seems to happen especially when I descend quickly and do not constantly equalize the mask on the way down. I believe the mask seems to move to a new secondary stability point, the equalizing alone will not fix.
What I usually do is face up and with both thumbs and pull the mask just off my face while clearing it. The mask will then reseat in the proper position and feel fine for the remainder of the dive. Perhaps you should try this technique before you invest in a new mask.
