in '93, and '94, the live-fish trappers made a sweep thru the Southern California bight and descimated the entire shallower water rockfish population from Laguna Beach to the Cortes Bank to the Channel Islands and ALL waters btwn. It has taken all of these insuing years to recover from that six month rampage!
I challenge anyone to dispute this claim!
I personally saw the holding pens at the Cortes, SBI, SCI, to prove my point.
Here we are some 10 years later and we are only now seeing the recrutement of the juviniles.
If there is another sweep thru the Southern Californian waters, i committ to you that i will make a FEDERAL issue out of it.
There ARE TOO FEW BENEFICIARIES TO JUSTIFY THE DECIMATION OF OUR SHALLOW WATER FISHERIES!
