He was looking for flatties for dinner. So ofter his head first encounter he could not dare spear a fish and carry it back through the water. Also, this was not a swim by, but they nearly bumped heads. Then he lost contact. So where did tat shark go? Was it behind him? He said his mind played tricks with movement sensed just at the periphery of vision. He thinks it was a mako. It was a big shark that could do some serious damage if it got too curious and it came within inches of his mask -- definately the curious type.

Alone, at night, with an unafraid and curious shark. Hmmm. I would probably been a bit rattled, too.
