I saw a fairly large shark on my first night dive off PV. It's hard to say how big it really was -- perhaps 8 feet but it looked A LOT bigger to me at the time! It slowly swam past me on the bottom without deviating from its course.
I assumed at the time that it was a great white but in hindsight I think it was probably a harmless sixgill. Anyway, I waited until my air was down to about 500 psi, made a quick ascent and practically walked on water back to the boat.
All the guys on the boat told me how lucky I was to see a "real" shark. Now I realize how right they were.
