The Sandeaters is not exactly based in the South Bay (it's based in cyberspace) but they do weekly beach dives throughout Southern California, including regular visits to Redondo and Palos Verdes. The mailing list is also an easy way to connect with other active divers.
You can find a lot more info on the website (www.sandeaters.org) and sign up to receive e-mail notifications of the weekly dives by clicking on the link at the top of the page.
