I'm glad you had a nice dive, and I appreciate your enthusiasm. However, I think it would be nice if hunters gave sheephead a break. Large individuals are very few and far between on the mainland, at least in waters that are accessible to divers. Also, sheephead are a resident species, which allows many divers to continually enjoy their presence at a given location. This applies especially to large individuals. Spearing one gives you dinner for the night but deprives many fellow divers repeated experiences with the same fish.
I certainly think you have a right to hunt. I also think sheephead could use a break. How about focusing on species like yellowtail, white seabass, and halibut?
