The King Harbor Patrol guys have been out recently scoping out spots to hit Friday night/Saturday morning and the word is out that the Redondo Beach breakwater is crawling with Lobsters right now. The visability is not that great but unless there is a large swell running, it's going to be an almost sure thing Opening Night. The breakwater can be hit from the beach on either side of it, walking out on the breakwater and entering from the rocks, or if you are one of the lucky ones to own a boat, you can anchor anywhere in front of it. Only problem is that the Fish and Game and the Harbor Patrol love to practice their boarding excercises on everyone that dives there. Dive legal and you can probably have a great dive. You probably won't need a divelight cause there will be so many other divers out there also.
