A somewhat similar study was done at Whites Point years ago. If I remember correctly, they checked the heart rates and blood pressures of divers before they entered the water and again after they exited. The project was written up in "Skin Diver".
The origional data still exists and can be obtained from Paul Meister, who was one of the coordinators of the project. If it would be of any value to you I'm sure he would be glad to share his data. Paul loves research.
