Every August on a selected weekend, always when the tides are at their minimal exchange, the party of the year happens. THE NORTH COAST DIVE PARTY. Did I say it loud enough?
This is pure, unadulterated, no holds barred, do whatever you want, dive in the best place in the world, absolute dive your brains out fun!!!
Eating, drinking, big fire pit, over the top dive tales, all in an atmosphere that will bring tears to your eyes from the beauty. Yes, you are allowed to kill a fish and prepare it with garlic and wine and savour every last crumb to your ultimate delight. Yes, we KILL things and EAT them WITHOUT being brow beaten or accosted by some extremist freak that is going to save the ocean by telling you that you shouldn't have taken that fish or abalone. This is northern territory and it's different.
Why would anyone need to go to Cozumel or Hawaii or Bonaire?
So you can spend thousands and sit on a cattle boat?
What, you need vis?
warm water?
forget about it!
This is where the action is at a fraction of the cost and in much better company.
The North Coast is wild and the friendships are earned and last forever. The bonds strong. You just don't get that many places. This is remote and you have to be open to adventure.
