A seizure would be a great example Frank. Many people with epilepsy (or even those without who seize from ox-tox or other) have a persistant altered level of conciousness post-ictally, often only for a minute or 5, but clearly long enough to drown from a dropped second stage. A buddy could easily save their life by holding it in the mouth as they will breath easily enough.

Acute hypoglycemia with loss of consciousness is another, although one can certainly argue that diabetes is a relative (or stronger) contraindication to diving ;)
