My husband caught a flying fish last weekend. It looked somewhat like a flounder (greenish brown) on top, and somewhat like a fat catfish (white belly) on the under side. It had log brown wings with white spots on them. It had some strange looking yellowish legs that looked like large shrimp legs. It had a large mouth like a bass. Its eyes were close together on top of the head, and had ridges like a alligator has around the eyes.
We did not have a camera, and felt sorry for the
fish so let it go. Wish we could have photographed it. We caught it near Galveston, Texas.
