The squid have arrived early.
A collection team from the LB Aquarium dove Redondo last week and collected a nice bunch of eggs for our Redondo Canyon exhibit. They said there were a few clusters, but that they also saw about 25 squid over the course of the dive. Eggs seem to be in th eusual location - out from the stairs, down the slope, in about 65-75 feet of water.
So it looks like they're starting early this year and hopefully this will be a more profilic squid season than last year was.
