the above website list many. La Jolla Cove is usally good if conditions permit. It is a north facing beach so if the winter swell (usally out of the north) is too bad this would not be the site. But if the swell allows, it has rock, reef, sand, kelp and lots of great beach diving.

La Jolla Shores - dive the deep canyon. Sand bottom. You may see life during a day dive (whales, sharks etc) but unless you get luckly I personally don't like it as a day dive. The canyon does get quite deep.
