Just got off the phone with one of the officers at Redondo Harbor Patrol. She indicated they were aware of the explosives incident which occured last nite. She indentified the vessel as a fishing boat which posessed a permit issued by Fish & Game allowing them the use of explosives to fend off seals. The boat owner indicated they were at least 500 yards off shore which is what is required for the use of explosives for this purpose. We are not certain that indeed they were that far off-shore, but we can tell you that we were at a depth of 85 ft and could see the ilumination of the boat lights overhead. Do the math!
