I have worked on those boats and am a diver the bombs called seal controls are small like an m-80.
Other than the painful sound they do no real damage to anything. When you light it and toss it overboard they sink to around 15-20 feet and go boom and make a flash. They dont really kill anything unless it is right on top of it , like strapped to it. The bad thing is that the seals don't seem to care anymore and the constant boom booom boooom is hard to sllep with if you are on a boat. The best thing to do would be to call the boat up on vhf and tell them divers are in the water and ask them to lay off the bombs. Most boats that I knew would be glad to not be tossing mini-depth charges your way
