This is from a August 1981 article. This is the California State Record fish at 72.5 Lbs. It was taken on the front side of Santa Cruz Island.
This photo is from a 2001 trip by the Sea Sons (www.seasonsdive.com) to Santa Cruz Island, as you can see he still can do it it.
