Ross-O, Coralcuts and I made our first two dives of the year this morning. We motored over to the wreck of the Palawan off Redondo Beach. It's basically a Jungle Jim with marine life all over it. We did a few swim-throughs and decided to ascend before we got any long Deco obligations before making a second dive. We had lunch on the way to Marineland. Note to self; KFC + boat deck = Slip-n-slide. After looking unsuccessfully for the new Jenny Lynne wreck, we dropped onto the reefs offshore. There was a bit of a current here. None of us got our 2004 fishing license yet, so naturally Susan and I grabbed a big bug and had to release it. We found the usual critters along with a Leafy Hornmouth snail and a large 3" Coon shrimp. Vis at both sites was 30 feet plus with temps of 55 and 56F Suunto degrees. A great way to start the new year.
