You remind me, though I used to not forget. Depth record attempts have historically just led to deaths. There seems like no point, though I have to say, that one was pretty impressive. I guess they will continue until the deaths start again.
It used to be that they would follow the scuba diver with sonar and at the point when they just started dropping straight down, they called that the depth record.
