Yes deep-records are pretty silly and really dangrous, I think they do serve some contribution to the diving world. This guy put his life on the line for fame but also in doing so did some good research on gas mixtures, pressure, ......
We have the new stuff to go deep if needed but isn't it nice to know that it is possable to do if there ever was a time when it had to be done...(I can't think of one but you get my point)
If this guy wants to die so-be-it just tell us what happened.
