It's tough to do, but it can be done.
Take it all the way apart and get all the meat out of it. Keep the upper part of the tail shell intact. Do not get it into the sun! Then fill it with cotton and re-assemble it with glue. It will probably take more than one try to do well.
I may be able to ask more about it tomarrow from someone who knows more about it.
Tell me how it comes out.
