Was there a more effective method of catching squid introduced just prior to 97&98 that could have contributed to those high numbers or do you think it's all due to there just being more squid around during that time? This graph is at odds with what Sonke said. It seems ridiculous to put the catch limits so high. And what does 'sustainable' mean? I assume it means the maximun number we can extract without crashing the population... not the maximum number we can take and still allow the ENTIRE ecosystem to flourish.
