I think Chris makes a good point about every fish being counted in the boat limit. If it were up to me, each angler would have to keep the first WSB he caught, then put up the rod. As it currently stands anglers can catch a hundred pounds of fish per day (3) and go back out and do it again every day for weeks as happened a few years ago off Palos Verdes. (where are those fish now?)

That was total mayhem and the new boat limits not only do nothing to prevent that, they actually encourage it. Now skill and luck don't matter. When the fish are at the height of their spawn, every angler on the boat will take home his limit, and he wouldn't even have to fish!

In my opinion, that's not prudent conservation, that's giving in to the money interests to the detriment of the fishery.
