Because it is important that the people who hold others accountable to laws also themselves be held accountable, lest people think they are being hypocritical.
As to your epithet, your libelous insult is tortious and thus actionable. With me being a moron, the Americans with Disabilities Act prevent discrimination against me for my mental illness, I have made a finding that you are also discriminating against me for my mental illness handicap. Therefore there shall be multiple causes of action against you along with various claims for loss of earnings, intentional infliction of emotional distress, loss of consortium, ad nauseum.....
