Several years ago Undercurrent/In Depth did a review of the Spare Air - I don't remember the fine details but the tester took the largest model to 100', took four breaths (to simulate the time spent on the bottom getting your &^$#( together, then made a safe but direct accent to the surface. The Spare Air was empty as the tester reached the surface. The recommendation was to get a pony bottle and regulator. My opinion is that the spare air is a great idea but because of the limited size it is effectively useless.
