Find out about the dive site called Two Step at the City of Refuge. It is a step in shore dive and really worth doing. Good for beginners as well.
Hey, I remember a recent post.... Most people dive out of Kona. These folks went north of Waikaloa (good snorkeling on one of the rare Big Island Beaches) about 15 miles and had some great diving on a boat out of there.
Do the Botanical Gardens too over by Hilo.
