Sunday was Divers Day at the Long Beach Aquarium so I took my wife and niece. We had a great day and I truley enjoy (even with the crouds) taking my time and looking at all the exhibits. The LB Aquarium does a great jobs at making the fish feel "at home". They truley look healthy and happy.
On Monday we thought we would have another nice family day and see some more animals. We went to the LA Zoo. WOW, what contrast compared to the LB Aquarium! Every animal in there looks depressed. The exhibit that contains the sea lions had debris floating all over the water and had no visual stimulation underwater to simulate a reef or their natural habitat. Although my niece and wife had a good time I couldn't stop thinking how the animals got screwed by ending up here. I guess it's just like in our own life where some people are born rich and others are born in poverty. Just in case I wasn't being clear, Aquarium of the Pacific = rich and La Zoo = poverty.
Sorry had to get that off my chest.
